Staff Nurse MRI Children's South
Work schedule
Part-time, benefits eligible on the day shift; two 10-hour shifts per week.
About the role
The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, provides nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, reassessments, planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care of patients and caregivers. The Imaging Sedation Nurse prepares, monitors, and recovers patients requiring sedation for CT and MRI at Children’s South, works at the main campus to screen sedation patients by phone, and assists in all areas of Imaging as needed.
Responsibilities
- Use medical equipment, patient records, reports, and computer systems
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate (ADN), bachelor (BSN), or master (MSN) degree in nursing
Experience
- Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience (pediatric preferred)
- Minimum of one year recent critical care experience (greater than two years preferred)
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Current RN license in the State of Alabama
- Current BLS certification
- PALS certification preferred
Essential Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications
- Registered Nurse – Alabama Single State License
- Registered Nurse – Alabama NLC Multi-State License
- Registered Nurse – Non-AL NLC Multi-State License
Essential Education with Equivalent Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications
CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, and X-ray exams; sedation services for CT and MRI patients; family-like atmosphere with technologists and nurses working together to provide exceptional patient care.
