Staff Nurse - Medical

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient-centered care for individuals or groups within their scope of practice.
• Deliver holistic care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
• Lead and perform professional duties, including quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
• Support staff education, precept new employees, and act as a mentor to clinical teams.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient operations, high-quality care, and excellent customer service, especially for pediatric patients.
• Utilize informatics, technology, and systems-based practices to enhance patient care and workflow.
• Participate in ongoing duties and may be temporarily assigned across various hospital areas based on patient needs.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Experience working with different organizational levels, healthcare settings and proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (preferred).

Education & Certification

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or obtaining it within 5 years.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.

Schedule

Full-time, onsite position with 36 hours/week, primarily daytime hours, involving leadership, clinical, and collaborative duties to ensure quality patient care.
