Staff Nurse III - Simulation & Education Coordinator

About the role

Natividad is seeking to fill one full‑time permanent Staff Nurse III – Simulation & Education Coordinator position in the Nursing Education Department. The incumbent will work with the Director of Nursing Education and Simulation, providing education and simulation as a consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader, and researcher. The role also involves collaboration with the Director, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physicians, Supervising Nurses, Department Directors, and the Directors of the Quality Department, Risk Management, and Medical Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides oversight and has direct responsibility for the simulation program at Natividad, including compliance with SSH (Society for Simulation in Healthcare) accreditation standards.
• Supports and develops education and simulation experiences for nursing, physicians, physician residents, allied health professionals, students, and the community.
• Develops education and simulation activities based on the general nursing annual education needs assessment, quality improvement priorities, and regulatory training requirements.
• Responsible for providing dedicated time to observing and assisting the activities of the Simulation Operations Specialist.
• Assists healthcare providers in the development of learning and simulation training activities to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care delivery and related quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid California Registered Nurse license or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
