Staff Nurse - Behavioral Health Unit

Role Overview

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing principles. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a focus on family-centered approaches. They demonstrate the skills necessary to address physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages. The role involves leadership, patient-centered care, quality improvement, safety, staff education, and mentoring. They support provider collaboration, promote efficient operations, and ensure high-quality, customer-focused care, especially for pediatric patients. The nurse performs systems-based practices, utilizes informatics and technology, and may be temporarily assigned across different areas based on patient needs. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; EMR experience preferred.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or to be obtained within 5 years.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Valid, active Ohio RN license with Multistate License (MSL).
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
