About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care within the behavioral health unit, focusing on family-centered, patient-centered, and evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care for individuals or groups of patients.
- Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
- Perform leadership, mentorship, and professional duties including staff education and precepting.
- Support collaborative provider efforts, promote quality improvement, safety, and system-based practices.
- Utilize informatics and technology systems, and adapt to temporary assignments across departments as needed.
Provide comprehensive nursing care, lead and mentor staff, collaborate with healthcare teams, ensure safety and quality standards, and utilize technology to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- BSN required or obtained within 5 years.
- Valid Ohio RN license (Multistate License preferred).
- Minimum one year of healthcare experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support certification; additional certifications may be necessary.
Skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) is required.
