About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct family-centered nursing care for individuals or groups within the scope of practice.
- Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
- Perform leadership, professional duties, and patient-centered care activities.
- Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and staff education, including precepting and mentoring new employees.
- Implement evidence-based practices, support provider collaboration, and promote team-based, high-quality care for pediatric patients.
- Utilize informatics and technology, and perform system-based practice duties.
- Adapt to temporary assignments across different areas based on patient needs.
- Fulfill other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively across organizational levels.
- Experience with healthcare settings, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide staff, with a focus on teamwork and quality service.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or obtainable within five years.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio required.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
