Staff Manager, Project Engineering

Moog’s Space Sector designs and manufactures systems to survive the harsh environments of space travel. Our team in the Space Sector’s Actuation Systems Business Unit is looking for a Staff Manager, Project Engineering.

Location: Onsite – Elma, New York
Requirements: Access to U.S. export-controlled information and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of ~20 project engineers
• Assign projects to direct reports promptly and monitor tasks to ensure they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints
• Provide personal development for direct reports by conducting performance reviews, mentoring, and monitoring career development
• Provide technical leadership to the broader organization by providing feedback to engineering strategy
• Champion continuous improvement in the design and development processes
• Coordinate with engineering leadership to align project goals and share best practices across teams
• Maintain key performance indicators and metrics
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to your team
• Participate in proposal efforts with strong engineering teams supporting new business capture and long-term growth

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of relevant technical experience
• Proven track record managing and leading engineering teams to success
• Experience with people leadership and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated experience in project management including EVMS, Risk and Opportunity Management, Scope Management, Schedule and Budget Management
• Ability to work onsite in Elma, NY (remote candidates will not be considered)

Pay

Buffalo, NY: $140,000.00–$170,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
