Staff Legal Managing Attorney- Philadelphia

About the role

Zurich is seeking a Managing Attorney to oversee the Philadelphia Staff Legal office. The role involves managing Liability and Workers’ Compensation attorneys, collaborating with the LeHigh Valley PA Managing Attorney, and providing guidance on complex matters. The position reports to a Regional Managing Attorney and is part of Zurich's hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of attorneys representing commercial insureds in challenging and varied caseloads.
• Prepare and try moderate to high exposure cases in first-chair jury trials.
• Provide coaching and feedback on the most complex matters and highest exposures.
• Collaborate with the Lehigh Valley PA Managing Attorney on cases in that area.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor and 10+ years of litigation experience, including significant first-chair jury trial experience.
• Member in good standing in Pennsylvania State Bar.
• Experience working with Lexis, Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and litigation legal environment.
• Strong litigation experience and capabilities, including developing and mentoring others on trial advocacy.
• Strategic, forward-focused mindset, embracing simplification and innovation.
• Ability to manage a staff of 10 attorneys and 3 paralegals in a hybrid model.
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay

The proposed salary range for this position is $170,000.00 - $200,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
