About the role
The Staff Interior Designer will prepare designs, edit specifications, and prepare conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial-related facilities. This position creates, designs, and implements interior design and space planning strategies and initiatives to ensure fluidity through the completion of the project.
Responsibilities
- Prepares designs, quantity calculations, designs, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for interiors of aviation and/or federal facilities.
- Compiles data, provides elementary design computations, assists with preparation of internal design plans and renderings.
- Responsible for furniture purchasing and reconfiguration.
- Researches interior design products and makes recommendations.
- Researches, develops, and selects color, finish, and materials.
- Recommends new ideas, formulas, and methods.
- Led construction administration activities through site visits and review of schedules.
- Maintains conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required or Master Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required.
- Minimum four years of interior design experience preferred.
- Demonstrated progress towards achieving NCIDQ certification.
- Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard interior design concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively in a problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Strong software and computer skills required, including BIM (Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Valid driver's license Required.
