About the role

The Staff Interior Designer will prepare designs, edit specifications, and prepare conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial-related facilities. This position creates, designs, and implements interior design and space planning strategies and initiatives to ensure fluidity through the completion of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares designs, quantity calculations, designs, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for interiors of aviation and/or federal facilities.
  • Compiles data, provides elementary design computations, assists with preparation of internal design plans and renderings.
  • Responsible for furniture purchasing and reconfiguration.
  • Researches interior design products and makes recommendations.
  • Researches, develops, and selects color, finish, and materials.
  • Recommends new ideas, formulas, and methods.
  • Led construction administration activities through site visits and review of schedules.
  • Maintains conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required or Master Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required
  • Minimum four years of interior design experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated progress towards achieving NCIDQ certification.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of standard interior design concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Strong software and computer skills required, including BIM (Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license Required.
