What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with the System Architect to define product specifications, translating system-level requirements into mechanical design constraints and documentation
- Create, model, and release mechanical components and assemblies for HAPS modules, infrastructure, and rack systems using CAD tools like SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX
- Create detailed mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and bill of materials documentation for manufacturing and production release
- Manage procurement workflows for mechanical components, working with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timeline targets are met
- Validate designs through prototyping, testing, and cross-functional review, iterating based on thermal, electrical, and serviceability feedback
- Collaborate daily with electrical and thermal engineering teams to resolve integration issues, optimize layouts, and ensure system-level performance
- Use product data management tools like Teamcenter to track design revisions, manage releases, and maintain configuration control across product lifecycles
The Impact You Will Have
- Improve the mechanical robustness and manufacturability of HAPS emulation systems that enable faster semiconductor prototyping and verification
- Reduce time to market for next-generation emulation platforms by streamlining design-to-production workflows and eliminating late-stage integration issues
- Enable better thermal performance and system reliability through thoughtful mechanical design that accounts for real-world operating conditions
- Strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration by bridging mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineering perspectives in system-level decision-making
- Contribute to Synopsys' leadership in hardware-assisted verification by delivering emulation platforms that customers depend on for critical design work
- Help build a design and documentation foundation that scales as the product line grows and evolves
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design, product development, or mechanical engineering for complex assemblies
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX, with the ability to create production-ready models and drawings
- Experience with product data management systems like Teamcenter or similar PLM tools for managing design releases and configuration control
- Strong understanding of printed circuit board assemblies, enclosures, thermal management, and electromechanical integration
- Experience with Siemens NX is a plus, as is familiarity with rack-mounted systems, high-density electronics packaging, or emulation hardware
