Responsibilities
- Ensures platform architecture meets growth, monitoring, and alerting goals.
- Leads complex, high-risk technical projects and communicates effectively about them.
- Makes informed decisions and mentors junior team members.
- Stays updated with industry trends through education and company training.
- Designs and develops features to enhance core product offerings.
- Manages source code using Git.
- Queries platform data using SQL-based databases.
- Works on complex Java Web Services using Spring Boot.
- Tracks sprint work in Jira and documents complex details in Confluence.
- Builds automated tests and integrates them into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Submits pull requests and incorporates feedback from the team.
- Supports risk management and data protection.
Requirements
- Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field; 10+ years of related industry experience.
- Java proficiency: Advanced proficiency required.
- Debugging and troubleshooting: Very good skills.
- Source control: Proficient with Git.
- Data querying: Familiarity with SQL.
- Service design: Advanced proficiency with RESTful services.
- Testing: Strong understanding of automated testing.
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Decision-making: Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and make trade-offs.
Qualifications
- Physical requirements: Normal office environment, sedentary work, occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Technical skills: Spring / Spring Boot framework, event-based programming, multi-threading, memory management, kernel/user mode, fault tolerance, distributed systems, cloud experience, REST or SOAP services, familiarity with data formats like XML, JSON, YAML, NoSQL (Redis, HBASE, AeroSpike), Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes, FinTech experience.

Pay
The base pay scale for this position in Phoenix, AZ/Chicago, IL/Washington, DC is $124,000 - $165,000 per year. Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
