Key Responsibilities

  • Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role.
  • Applies advanced engineering techniques with minimal supervision.
  • Builds knowledge to develop concepts and approach more complex engineering problems.
  • Provides technical guidance to a group or supervises engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity.
  • May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical outputs.
  • Provides guidance and direction on design guides, procedures, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies.
  • Independently applies knowledge and complies with Black & Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks.
  • Maintains compliance with Black & Veatch quality program and provides related guidance and direction to others.
  • Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Prepares a variety of complex Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Prepares complex engineering calculations in accordance with standard methods and principles.
  • Affirmatively identifies key client interests and drivers on low to moderately complex projects.
  • Communicates these to project team members and develops approaches to address them in project execution.
  • Supports business development and pursuit activities and may offer additional services to clients.
  • Recognized as a technical specialist, with the knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area.
  • May design complete projects of moderately complex scope or support multiple projects involving complex technical challenges.
  • Actively fosters knowledge management and provides mentoring.
  • Develops and applies advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.
  • Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Independently applies advanced engineering techniques, analysis methods, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to junior team members to build project execution capability.
  • Reviews work completed by lower-level engineers.
  • Actively coordinates with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex projects and may serve as the engineer in responsible charge of a project.
  • Assists with performance management processes, mentoring, recognition, and corrective actions as required.
  • Mentors junior professionals and identifies successors for role continuity.
  • May assist with resource management strategy and may have responsibility for managing engineering resources for small, single-discipline teams.
  • Actively coordinates with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex projects and may serve as the engineer in responsible charge of a project.
  • Assists with performance management processes, mentoring, recognition, and corrective actions as required.
  • Mentors junior professionals and identifies successors for role continuity.
  • May assist with resource management strategy and may have responsibility for managing engineering resources for small, single-discipline teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.E/B. Tech in Instrumentation & Controls Engineering.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
