Staff Engineer - Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead and Senior Electrical Engineers to develop schematic and construction drawings.
  • Aid in code analysis and cost estimates to meet project requirements.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit, and voltage drop analyses for lighting and power distribution systems.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment schedules under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Conduct code research and documentation for all applicable codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural disciplines to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications, narratives, and basis of design documentation.
  • Review shop drawings, product submittals, and RFI’s, and assist with responses during construction.
  • Utilize electrical software such as SKM Power Systems Analysis, AGI32, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Maintain organized project documentation in accordance with QAQC procedures and firm standards.
  • Assume responsibility as the Electrical Project Engineer for small projects and coordinate work with all disciplines.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meetings.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections of electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree (Preferably passed EIT).
  • A minimum of 2+ years of direct experience in related electrical engineering design.
  • A proactive personality with a solutions-based approach to problem-solving.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English language) and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Word, and Excel (Microsoft Office).
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required at this time.

Pay

The projected range for this position is $76,913 - $98,888 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
