Responsibilities
- Perform electrical design of utility-scale solar projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, cable routing, communications systems design, grounding design, equipment selection, and equipment specifications.
- Create, modify and review PV electric supply stations using PVsyst and System Advisor Model.
- Create, modify and review electrical drawings and construction details using AutoCAD.
- Perform engineering and design functions as necessary to meet project schedules.
- Perform site reviews and construction site visits.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Systems.
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
- Must be a reliable, efficient self-starter with initiative and a sense of responsibility.
- Prior internship experience desired.
- Prior AutoCAD and ETAP experience desired.
- Working knowledge of electrical components including: PV modules, inverters, transformers, surge arresters, and circuit breakers.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering standards/codes including: NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, UL, NESC.
- Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively, by telephone, in written form, email and in person.
- Ability to keep accurate and detailed records or notes.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior AutoCAD and ETAP experience desired.
- Working knowledge of electrical components including: PV modules, inverters, transformers, surge arresters, and circuit breakers.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering standards/codes including: NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, UL, NESC.
- Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively, by telephone, in written form, email and in person.
- Ability to keep accurate and detailed records or notes.
