About the role

C&I Engineering is seeking a Staff Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join their team in Salt Lake City, Utah. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience with a Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program, or 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program. Must also have a Professional Engineer License, valid driver’s license, and be able to obtain a TWIC and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex industrial projects that meet design intents and customer expectations.
  • Designs are well coordinated with other departments.
  • Creates lists of engineering deliverables and tasks, and estimates effort hours based on limited scopes of work for complex projects.
  • Mentors junior staff, assists in the training and development of others, and identifies training needs for the department chief.
  • Creates a plan of execution for large and complex projects, anticipating the sequence of tasks, long lead and special items for the engineering procurement cycle, and dependencies of information from others.
  • Works within the project team to integrate the department plan into a multi-discipline project plan of execution.
  • Prepares computer analyses and calculations.
  • Uses vendor documents, coordination prints, surveys, and models to check dimensions, determine interface points, determine physical space requirements, and provide information to other departments.
  • Specifies process instrumentation (level, pressure, flow, temperature, etc.).
  • Helps develop P&IDs and create typical electrical and instrumentation design documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites.
  • Complies with drug-free workplace requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.

Qualifications
