About the Role
In this role, you will lead electrical design for water/wastewater projects, providing technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff in regional design centers. You will serve as a technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations and support business development related to enhanced electrical services.
The ideal candidate is located in or willing to relocate to the Irvine, Los Angeles, San Marcos, or Murrieta metropolitan areas. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for water/wastewater projects.
- Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff.
- Serve as a technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations.
- Support business development related to enhanced electrical services.
- Conduct studies such as energy optimization, power system coordination, arc flash hazard analysis, and electrical reliability analysis.
- Perform construction inspection and resolve electrical construction issues.
- Coordinate with local electrical utilities on project technical needs.
- Review supplier submittals.
- Act as a liaison between the local design team, client, and remote design teams for instrumentation and control design.
- Support startup and testing of major electrical equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Professional Engineer’s (PE) license in California or another U.S. jurisdiction (preferred).
- 5-8 years of experience in electrical design, planning, and construction services.
- Consulting and water/wastewater experience (preferred).
- Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, including variable frequency drives and standby diesel generators.
- Understanding of PLC hardware and software setup, network configuration, HMI, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and fiber optic cabling.
- Experience in a client-facing or business development role.
- Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP, or other analysis software (a plus).

Pay
The compensation range for this role is $126,423.00 - $239,925.00.
