Staff Electrical Engineer, Durham, North Carolina
About the role
As a senior member of the electrical engineering team, work collaboratively with multi-functional teams to complete critical improvements or net-new robotic product designs from concept to production, including design, prototyping, build, verification, validation, and certification. Support the R&D global technical team on multiple projects in parallel.
Actively work to improve the quality and reliability of current and future products within the Pharmacy Automation portfolio by applying theoretical and hands-on electrical support to identify problems and deliver robust solutions. Provide electrical solutions for changes to existing products, including designing test setups for manufacturing, writing test applications, developing tools for system diagnostics and monitoring capabilities, and providing support for existing board designs.
Create, update, and release technical documentation to support the electrical aspects of the systems being developed. Provide electrical support for ongoing regulatory certification efforts for multiple product lines.
We prioritize on-site collaboration, requiring a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and validate electrical systems for robotic product improvements and new developments.
- Develop and support test automation using LabView and/or LabWindows CVI.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for electrical systems.
- Support regulatory certification efforts for compliance with UL-61010, UL-60601, CE, TuV, and EMI/EMC standards.
- Build prototype printed circuit board assemblies and cables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust electrical solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of applicable experience in electrical engineering.
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of motion control, AC power electronics, motors and controls, sensors, servo systems, and embedded control systems.
- Proficiency with LabView and/or LabWindows CVI for test automation.
- Familiarity with Altium PCB development environment or similar EE design packages for schematic capture, board layout, and manufacturing files.
- System-level electrical architecture experience.
- Experience obtaining and maintaining regulatory certifications (UL-61010, UL-60601, CE, TuV, EMI/EMC).

Pay
Salary range: $117,800.00 - $188,600.00 USD annually. The offered salary is determined by role requirements, including necessary skills and education, and may be influenced by location, labor laws, and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements.
Schedule
This role requires a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week.
