Duties / Responsibilities
- Inspect, identify hazards or defects, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems on structural wiring, service equipment, receptacles, switches, and light fixtures.
- Perform repairs or replace per manufacturer recommendations while adhering to the National Electrical Code standards, recommended practices, and guides.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and scissor lifts to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
- Engage with homeowners to inform them of issues and needed repairs, replacement, or appropriate upgrades to be completed at that time or at a scheduled time.
- Lead customers to informed and confident buying decisions.
- Effectively communicate with all customers, building officials, and internal office support staff.
Required Skills
- Must have a clean driving record (No more than 3 points in 12 months).
- Must pass Background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Able to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends.
- Able to read technical diagrams of equipment, controls, and blueprints.
- Able to solve basic math problems as it applies to the NEC Calculations.
- Able to direct Electrical Apprentices assign to you as needed for work scope.
- Excellent work ethic and willingness to learn new methods.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
- Demonstrate Safe working practices and methods.
- Ability to navigate the use of company provided electronic tablet.
- Document work completed with before and after photos.
- Accurately estimate and invoice repairs.
Education / Experience
- 3+ years of residential electrical wiring, repair and troubleshooting all aspects of the Electrical System preferred.
- FEAT or other Electrical Apprenticeship Training preferred.
- Journeyman's certification preferred.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing, crawling, and climbing ladders up to 24’.
- Ability to lift to fifty pounds without additional man-power or mechanical device.
- Ability to work in outside environments of heat & cold safely, including attics and crawl spaces.
