Staff Developer - Bizapps

Responsibilities

• Work autonomously in a remote, fast-paced engineering environment
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to deliver reliable billing experiences
• Architect and develop backend services and APIs for billing processes
• Lead complex technical efforts from design to production rollout
• Provide technical guidance and maintain high engineering standards
• Ensure reliability and performance of billing components and resolve issues
• Drive technical design decisions for new billing platform features

Qualifications

• 14+ years of experience designing and developing scalable, enterprise-grade backend systems, preferably in billing, commerce, or finance
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Expertise in Java; familiarity with Python or similar languages is beneficial
• Experience architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, particularly with Kafka
• Proficiency in API-driven design and hands-on experience with relational databases
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
