Staff Customer Quality Engineer

About the Role

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Staff Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) to own customer quality and reliability engineering for a major customer. This role acts as the primary customer interface, establishing working-level relationships with Tier-1 customers, leading internal teams to support customer requests, and communicating directly with customers. The position resides in the Austin, Texas office.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer quality work for Tier-1 customers
• Participate in and lead weekly and monthly conference calls and in-person meetings with customers
• Track customer quality metrics and provide regular reporting to customers
• Review customer quality scorecards and work with internal business units to implement continuous improvement actions that enhance quality performance
• Work cross-functionally with various internal organizations from SAS and Samsung HQ in Korea to drive root cause and preventive action using 8D/CAR methodology
• Manage quality perception with key customers as well as internal teams
• Craft customer presentations defining root cause, corrective actions, and preventive actions
• Coordinate and join customer audits if needed
• Cooperate to build next-generation customer support tool

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, quality, or related technical discipline with 9+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or quality/reliability work
• PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred
• Prior Foundry Customer Quality and Reliability Engineer experience preferred

Pay

Base salary range: $131,000 – $174,500. Individual base pay depends on duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications, and experience. Total compensation includes competitive benefits and may include participation in incentive compensation programs based on organizational and individual performance.
