Staff Civil/Structural Engineer
About the role
GEI has an immediate opening for a Staff Civil/Structural Engineer with experience in hydraulic structures, waterfront structures, temporary works, excavation support systems, and building foundations. The role involves supporting evaluation and design efforts, preparing and reviewing structural engineering deliverables, and performing construction oversight.
Responsibilities
- Supports evaluation and design efforts for structural steel, reinforced concrete, excavation support systems, foundations, and other above and below grade structures.
- Develops design recommendations and produces design deliverables.
- Serves as a project structural engineer supporting the structural lead and/or engineer of record.
- Prepares and presents technical presentations of evaluation results to internal team.
- Supports data management and analysis, technical report development, and assists in proposal preparation.
- Coordinates with the Design and Project Management Team for project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or similar from an EAC/ABET accredited institution.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) designation.
- 1-3 years of full-time professional experience in structural, geotechnical, or waterfront structures design.
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
- Experience with structural analysis programs such as STAAD, RISA, or SAP2000.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to perform field tasks and oversight as needed.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Structural Engineering or closely related field preferred.
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Revit preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in structural analysis programs.
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with the Design and Project Management Team.

Pay
$75,000.00 – $85,000.00/year
