What You’ll Do
- Own and evolve Brex’s brand identity system, including visual language, typography, color, illustration, and brand patterns
- Define and maintain brand standards that balance consistency with creative flexibility across teams and channels
- Translate company strategy and brand vision into clear, compelling visual direction in partnership with leadership
- Design and deliver new brand expressions that advance the identity while preserving recognition and equity
- Lead high-impact brand work beyond the core system, including special campaigns, sub-brands, and select product or service launches
- Art direct and contribute to brand campaigns, collaborating with external partners and internal teams to ensure exceptional craft
- Provide guidance and feedback across the organization to raise the quality and effectiveness of brand execution
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in brand design or art direction, with a strong focus on identity systems and brand evolution
- A portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, system design, and high-quality execution across identities and campaigns
- Deep expertise in typography, color, composition, and building scalable visual systems
- Strong ability to articulate design decisions and build alignment with cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders
- Experience working across multiple workstreams in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with comfort prototyping and iterating quickly
- Practical experience using AI tools in the creative process with sound judgment on when and how to apply them
- Motion, video, or illustration experience applied to brand systems or campaigns
- Experience art directing complex brand work with external creative partners
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $187,000 - $234,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
