About the role
The State Auditor's Office seeks Staff Auditor Interns to assist with audits and special projects. Duties may include fieldwork, report preparation, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Complete duties assigned by the Auditor In Charge (AIC)
- Identify relevant laws, regulations, and agreements
- Evaluate internal controls
- Plan and prioritize audit areas
- Prepare audit reports and recommendations
- Perform complex audit procedures
- Communicate findings and recommendations
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business administration, or a related field
- Desire to obtain a CPA license upon graduation (preferred, but not required)
Qualifications
- Professional demeanor and willingness to learn Government Auditing Standards
- Knowledge of business processes and internal controls
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software
- Understanding of Missouri state and local government structures
