About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and highly analytical Staff Audit Accountant to join our esteemed Accounting and Finance team. This is an opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients and industries, applying your expertise in IRS, Risk, and Accounting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in managing audits and financial analysis. This position offers the chance to establish and build relationships with clients and contribute to the company's strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with IRS regulations and company policies.
- Evaluate financial information for discrepancies and irregularities and create detailed reports of findings.
- Identify potential risk areas within financial operations and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and other documentation as required.
- Assist with tax planning and compliance, including preparation of tax returns.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and procedures.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage necessary corrective actions.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and legislation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in auditing, accounting, or a related field.
- Familiarity with IRS regulations and a strong understanding of risk management principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
