Staff Attorney Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations of the trial office and supervision of staff.
• Represents the government in criminal cases, including misdemeanors, juveniles, and felonies, with integrity and ethics.
• Fills motions on behalf of clients, participates in plea negotiations, assists clients in accessing treatment and other support, and prepares cases for trial.
• Participates in departmental educational initiatives, stays updated on legal changes, and engages with the local community and stakeholders.
• Works in both office and courtroom settings, and travel is required.

Minimum Requirements

• Four years experience as a licensed attorney in the practice of law.
• A Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) can substitute for one year of the required experience.
• No substitute experience for education.
• Must be admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or meet specific certification requirements.

Working Conditions

• Duties performed in both office and courtroom settings.
• Travel is required.
