About the role

We currently have an in-house remote opportunity for a Staff Attorney to litigate general liability, auto liability, subrogation, and related tort cases. This position is an ideal fit for an experienced Attorney with litigation experience in Illinois, with additional experience in Indiana and/or Wisconsin a plus. The Staff Attorney will strive to deliver the best possible results in pending litigation and reports to the Assistant Managing Attorney.

Our ideal candidate is an Attorney with experience and the ability to independently handle cases from inception through trial.

Responsibilities

• Handle assigned litigation and non-litigated legal work.
• Analyze substantive and procedural legal and factual issues, conduct legal research, and independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients.
• Prepare pleadings, depositions, motions, and briefs in support of litigation strategies without supervision due to level of experience and expertise.
• Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice, and other services to clients and claims customers on legal and factual issues in a technology-driven environment.
• Prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial and administrative hearings, and alternative dispute resolutions.
• Provide opinions to Managing Attorney, Assistant Managing Attorney, staff, clients, and claims customers.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and license to practice in good standing in the State of Illinois, with Indiana and/or Wisconsin licenses a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of legal experience in Litigation.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.

Additional Information

This position is a remote work opportunity; however, the selected candidate will travel for appearances at assigned venues as needed.

Pay

The annualized base pay range for this role is $118,800 - $178,200. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency, and demonstration of competencies required for the role.
