About the Role
The Boone and Gallatin Family Court has an immediate need for a Staff Attorney. The Staff Attorney will be performing under the direct supervision of a judge, legal support relating to the court's docket.
Responsibilities
- Review process of legal briefs and appellate records, ensuring thorough understanding and organized documentation.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis of case materials for court cases.
- Prepare and edit drafts of opinions, orders, and judgments under guidance.
- Proofread legal documents.
- Communicate with attorneys and pro se litigants upon the direction of the judge.
- Monitor for and provide summaries of recent legal developments and decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Juris Doctor degree – Graduate of an accredited law school.
Experience: 2 years of job related experience.
Licensure: Must be licensed and in good standing with Kentucky Bar Association (KBA). Exception: Attorneys holding a current license in a U.S. state other than Kentucky must be making every necessary step to become licensed with the KBA within eighteen (18) months of employment.

Working Conditions
