Staff Associate - San Jose Capernaum
Job Summary
Young Life Capernaum San Jose is seeking a full-time Capernaum Staff Associate to join our team in doing multiethnic ministry in an urban, non-Christian context. Potential for affordable housing can be discussed with the Area Director.
About the Role
With an experienced team already in place, we are looking for someone to join us in fulfilling Young Life's mission of evangelism and discipleship. The Area Director has been on staff for 20 years and has extensive experience in various Young Life programs.
Responsibilities
- Spiritual Development — “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health, and church relationships.
- Leadership Development — “Equipping leaders, committee and staff” includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building, training, supervision, and vision casting.
- Resource Development — “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding), and TDS team.
- Direct Ministry — “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners, and camp.
- Ministry Support — “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management, and strategic plan.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred.
- Experience in direct ministry.
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Salary and Benefits
Salary ranges from $48,000 - $67,500, including a cost of living adjustment. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and fundraising capacity.
Working Conditions
The position involves working in extreme conditions, including heat, cold, dirt, long hours, and the physical demands of hiking, horseback riding, boating, and more. Staff members must be able to handle these conditions.
