Responsibilities

  • Perform technical analyses, calculations, and design for various engineering projects, including site development, foundation design, retaining walls, earthwork, and pavements.
  • Utilize engineering software and tools for design, modeling, and data analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT, Tablogs).
  • Perform site investigations, field inspections, and data collection to support project objectives.
  • Draft exploration reports for review by senior professionals.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant fields.
  • Currently in progress towards obtaining Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification.
  • Travel regularly to local and regional project sites (typically within South Carolina and surrounding states), potentially including overnight stays and performing extensive fieldwork under varying environmental conditions, while adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.

  • Technical expertise in environmental regulations, civil design principles, geotechnical investigations, and construction material testing.
  • Client relationship management skills, including clear and concise communication with clients regarding project updates and data.
  • Quality control and assurance practices, including adherence to company and project-specific quality control procedures.
  • Project planning and scheduling, contributing to the development of project work plans and schedules by assisting with task breakdown and resource allocation.
  • Risk management and compliance, developing an understanding of project-specific risks and assisting in identifying potential hazards.
  • Cross-functional collaboration, working effectively as a supportive team member and contributing to a positive and productive team environment.
  • Contracts and vendor management, gaining exposure to project contracts and assisting with the initial stages of vendor coordination under senior guidance.
  • Business development support, assisting with proposal preparation, data compilation for marketing materials, and understanding the firm's service offerings.
  • Performance analytics, tracking and reporting on individual project progress and time utilization, and recognizing potential opportunities for new work.
