About the role
This is a developmental GS-11 target GS-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pacific Ocean Division (POD), Honolulu District. The Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) provides continuity of Executive Office policies and administrative/operational procedures, supports the District Commander, and advises on organizational issues.
Major Duties
- Maintains the District Commander’s calendar and syncs with the District long-range calendar and the master calendar managed by the Mission Support Officer.
- Maintains awareness of District programs and overall issues, ensuring the Commander is informed of pertinent concerns.
- Manages non-distinguished visitors for the Commander and accompanies them as needed.
- Arranges for and/or attends conferences or meetings called by the Commander.

- This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905.

- Conditions of Employment include a trial or probationary period, direct deposit of pay, temporary duty (TDY) or business travel, and a valid state Driver's License.
- The position requires obtaining and maintaining FMC02-Financial Management Certification Level II within two years of entry on duty.
Qualifications
- For GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative support to an office or organization; assisting with correspondence, scheduling, meetings, or travel coordination; maintaining records or tracking actions; and applying established administrative policies and procedures to support daily operations.
- For GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes providing executive or administrative support to senior leadership; coordinating correspondence, reports, or staff actions; managing calendars, meetings, or executive schedules; and interpreting or applying administrative policies and procedures to support organizational operations.
