About the Opportunity
The Staff Accountant/ Senior Accountant role is responsible for managing daily accounting activities and supporting month-end financial reporting. This position plays a key role in financial processes including transaction analysis, financial statement preparation, and coordination of audits, contributing to accurate financial management and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operational accounting tasks
- Prepare financial reports and analyses for internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
- Analyze financial transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Develop and improve accounting processes focusing on automation and efficiency
- Partner with HR on payroll, benefits administration, and compensation reporting
- Reconcile payroll liabilities such as taxes, benefits, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions
- Participate in month, quarter, and year-end closing activities
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Absorb and communicate risks, issues, and discrepancies proactively
- Conduct special accounting and control projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial reporting or general accounting
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Proficient analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting
- Able to manage multiple priorities and problem-solving
- Willingness to complete a multi-stage interview process including an in-person interview
Preferred
- CPA credential or progress toward CPA license
- Experience with QuickBooks
