About the role
The Senior Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. They will collaborate with colleagues across Finance and the broader business to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financials.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Assistant Controller to drive the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Assist in the preparation of internal monthly financial statements
- Review and oversee intercompany balances
- Analyze revenue and expense accounts to ensure accuracy and work with the FP&A team and other departments to understand and explain variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts
- Liaise with foreign subsidiaries to complete global analyses and resolve any issues identified
- Aid in the preparation of external and internal audits and tax returns by compiling required documentation and preparing various schedules and support
- Help determine proper internal controls and segregation of duties
- Drive process improvements by identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing solutions, including system automation
- Work with accounting management to administer the company's travel and expense program
- Research, resolve, and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
- Assist in special ad-hoc projects as assigned
Requirements
- 4+ years related experience in accounting or finance; public accounting or public company experience strongly preferred
- CPA or equivalent license preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX requirements
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel applications and formulas
- Basic understanding of accounting systems; NetSuite experience preferred
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced accounting environment with flexibility to take on new duties as needed amidst changing priorities
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent

Pay
The pay range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 USD. The compensation offered may vary depending on several factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Schedule
This position is hybrid, with 2 in-office days per week in our Santa Monica office.
