Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Aid in the month-end close process for several hazardous waste facilities.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Communicate month-end P&L results to management for responsible facilities.
- Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with internal/external audits.
- Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Offer support to operations as needed.
- Report to the Senior Accountant and contribute to improving financial processes.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Basic Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting; minimum 2 years of accounting experience; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting; working knowledge of US GAAP; strong numeracy and analytical skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- PREFERRED Qualifications: Experience with Oracle; ability to sit for extended periods of time; ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers; ability to manage several tasks at once to meet deadlines; ability to follow direction or instruction.
