About the role
The Staff Accountant provides accounting and operational support across our three lines of business: Vending, Market, Office Coffee Service (OCS). This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, eager to learn, and interested in growing their career within an operations-focused accounting environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of their responsibilities. We are looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, takes initiative, and seeks additional responsibilities when time allows. This role offers exposure to multiple areas of the business and opportunities for professional growth over time.
Responsibilities
- Support accounts receivable activities
- Assist with payroll duties
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations
- Manage P-card activity and supporting documentation
- Process customer commissions
- Participate in cash room activities, including petty cash reconciliation and cash management
- Assist with fixed asset tracking and management
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Support audits, compliance activities, data entry, and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
- 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required
- Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookup formulas and pivot tables
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize competing responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn
- Positive attitude, initiative, and desire for professional growth
