Staff Accountant, Leases and Fixed Assets

Position Responsibilities

• Evaluate and set up leases
• Monthly journal entries related to lease and PP&E activity
• Interface with field accounting personnel for lease accounting issues
• Record the transfer and disposal of assets within the organization
• Maintain and update the units of production schedules for mineral interest assets
• Aid capital department with asset creation and capital job close out
• Prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations and rollforwards
• Review various GL integrity reports and resolve any outstanding issues
• Evaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies
• Aid with lease and PP&E related quarterly and/or annual reporting schedules
• Ad-Hoc reporting and analysis

Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Self-starter and quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable
• Demonstrates ability to work with team members in a hands-on capacity
