Staff Accountant – Investment Office
About the role
Carnegie Mellon University seeks a Staff Accountant to join the Investment Operations, Risk and Analytics team. This role is based in Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and track investment commitments and execute related cash transactions, in a timely fashion, for capital calls and distributions.
- Monitor cash accounts for timely scheduling and disbursement of wire transfers.
- Process vendor payments in general ledger system and assure timely disbursement.
- Support investment team by providing timely and accurate responses to information requests.
- Compute valuations for the investment portfolio and post accounting entries (capital activity, valuation change, etc.) within the ledger.
- Assist with managing the inflow of financial information from investment fund managers.
- Assist with the portfolio company tracking process in the investment accounting system.
- Assist with AI integration projects within the Investment Office.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics or finance required; CPA desired.
- Minimum one to three years in a finance, accounting or auditing position.
- Previous investment operations or asset management experience is a plus.
- Experience with investment operations platforms such as Dynamo, Geneva Advent, BNY Nexen, Microsoft Power Bi is a plus.
