Staff Accountant II
Core Responsibilities
- Perform timely and accurate reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts monthly, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, deferred revenue, and other designated accounts.
- Execute assigned month-end close tasks within published close calendar deadlines.
- Maintain the organization’s lease accounting schedules, including right-of-use asset and lease liability rollforwards.
- Prepare cost reimbursement billings and state and local contract billings (e.g., DDS, DMH, DPH) in accordance with contract terms.
- Identify and implement improvements to reconciliation processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and auditability.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Minimum of three years of general ledger accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, V-Lookups, and multi-sheet reconciliation workbooks.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple reconciliation deadlines concurrently.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, particularly as it applies to balance sheet presentation and account classification.
