About the role

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Staff Accountant II to join our growing Finance team and support the continued expansion of our global business.

Responsibilities

  • Play an essential role in the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting reconciliations (e.g., accrued expenses, T&E and employee benefit-related accounts)
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure and reporting process
  • Perform monthly analytical reviews to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Support financial audits and SOX compliance requirements
  • Cook up and support statutory compliance and audits for Braze’s international entities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to obtain transaction details, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
  • Support optimization and effective use of accounting systems and platforms, including NetSuite
  • Afford documentation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure transactions are executed with US GAAP
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and participate in special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Big 4 or large regional firm experience is a plus
  • CPA and/or MBA is a plus
  • International accounting experience is a plus
  • SaaS or technology industry preferred
  • Proven knowledge and application of US GAAP, with a general understanding of SOX

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated team player who can operate independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Numeric, or other comparable ERP/accounting systems preferred

Skills

  • Knowledge of US GAAP
