Staff Accountant I

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to Department manager
  • Interacts as required with other division office personnel and staff
  • Prepares journal entries on a monthly basis
  • Codes and processes invoices as needed in A/P software
  • Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Processes non-operated cash receipts in Quorum/ODA’s Revenue module
  • Records and provides support to the Owner Relations portal (answer a wide variety of customer service questions)
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
  • Conforms with all safety rules and uses all appropriate safety equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
  • Use of a computer and understanding of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on many different projects at one time
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
  • Understanding of the importance of following standardized procedures
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • A positive attitude and take directions constructively
  • Willingness to "go the extra mile" to achieve division sales goals and objectives

Physical Demands

  • Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently and frequently moving small objects
  • Frequently sitting for long periods of time
  • Walking or standing occasionally
  • This position works mostly indoors; going outdoors may be frequently required
  • Must have manual use of hands and vision to use computer constantly
