Key Responsibilities
- Perform cost accounting activities within a manufacturing environment.
- Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing and posting monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries.
- Analyze financial data and perform account reconciliations, including:
- Trend analysis
- Work-in-process (WIP) analysis
- Detailed general ledger account reconciliations
- Support quarterly and annual audits by responding to auditor requests and providing required documentation.
- Extract and prepare financial data for internal and external tax reporting and other required schedules.
- Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with internal accounting controls.
- Manage fixed asset accounting for both book and tax purposes, including:
- Acquisitions
- Transfers
- Assets placed in service
- Retirements
- Depreciation
- Participate in physical inventory activities, including cycle counts and fixed asset inventories.
- Reconcile inventory balances and record adjustments for raw materials, fixed assets, and other inventory accounts.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Required Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with cost accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience using ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
