Staff Accountant – Cost Accounting

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzing and maintaining product costs, inventory transactions, and manufacturing variances.
• Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end closes.
• Monitoring inventory accuracy and supporting physical counts.
• Partnering with operations to analyze performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve profitability.
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Developing and enhancing accounting processes, reporting tools, and ERP system utilization.
• Performing additional financial analysis and accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing cost principles.
• CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is preferred.
