About the Opportunity
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting team's month-end close processes related to operating expenses, managing day-to-day accounting activities, and assisting with accounts payable functions. This role contributes by ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely reconciliation, supporting overall financial operations and organizational accountability.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries related to operating expenses.
- Manage reconciliation schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
- Support month-end and year-end closing tasks and ad-hoc reporting.
- Perform cross-departmental reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with month-end balance sheet and P&L flux analysis commentary.
- Categorize operating bank transactions and perform cash account reconciliations.
- Address vendor inquiries and facilitate communication related to accounts payable.
- Provide support for audit requests and other ad hoc tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience in manufacturing or retail; experience in start-up, high-growth eCommerce or CPG environments is advantageous.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics D365; experience with ExFlow and/or Concur is beneficial.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word; proficiency with Google Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Salary Range: $80,000—$85,000 USD
