Staff Accountant, Corporate Accounting
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain closing balance support and roll-forward reconciliations for relevant balances within corporate entities.
- Prepare entries based on steps memos as it relates to the corporate entities, coordinating with treasury, tax, legal and other impacted finance teams on any required changes.
- Cook up monthly intercompany confirmations with the U.S. Core Office regional contacts and prepare monthly reconciliations.
- Engage treasury on corporate cash management, ensuring appropriate treatment and timely documentation of cash movements and transactions.
- Prepare information for BPY custody audits, ensuring relevant cash account and investment information are provided and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Aid in the preparation of analysis for the submission of the quarterly results for the purposes of BPY listed reporting.
- Aid with the preparation of legal entity financial statements for tax and compliance quarterly and ad hoc requirements, including lender statements and IFRS tax provision.
- Support tax with information required for the annual tax return process, including support for historical filings in the event of an audit.
- Respond to requests from external auditors relating to the corporate ledgers.
- Aid Senior Management on routine and special projects as needed.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree; 1–2 years of experience desired.
- Pursuing CPA desired.
- Experience with IFRS desired, but not required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and confident working with large amounts of data.
- Experience with Yardi and OneStream desired.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships and work with professionals around the organization.
- Flexible, able to work with changing priorities, meets deadlines, prioritize, and work well independently.
- Able to handle a large volume of work with tight deadlines, and ad-hoc requests as required.
- Team player with positive attitude and pro-active approach to work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe complex accounting concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strategic thinker with ability to think outside the box, to improve upon existing processes or the implementation of new processes.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Type: Exempt
- Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly
- Annual Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000
- Medical & Pharmacy Coverage: Yes, under Brookfield Medical Plan
