About the role
This position is within the Corporate Accounting department at ThompsonGas, a rapidly expanding propane retailer. Key responsibilities include participating in all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, inventory management, and assisting with audits and tax filings.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, and monthly closings
- Utilize core ERP, SAP, Excel, and SQL-based reporting for financial reporting
- Manage monthly liquid inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate and complete records
- Avoidance of purchase card account oversight, including credit limit management and troubleshooting
- Full cycle fixed asset accounting and reporting processes
- Establish, monitor, and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support the review and preparation of financial statements and budgets
- Evaluate best practices and seek electronic efficiencies in accounting processes
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in corporate or public accounting environment
- Natural leadership and ability to motivate others
- Experience with Microsoft Excel for data reconciliation, analysis, or record maintenance
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional credentials preferred
- Experience with fast-growing companies

Qualifications
