Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper

Platform Accounting Group is a rapidly growing professional services firm providing tax, accounting, assurance, IT consulting, and wealth management services to small and medium-sized businesses and their owners. This role is based at AWG Wine Advisors in Santa Rosa, a specialized accounting and advisory firm dedicated exclusively to the wine industry, blending industry-specific expertise with high-level technical accounting knowledge to support boutique and family-run wineries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bookkeeping for a variety of clients on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Prepare and process client payroll and payroll taxes (W2, 1099, Quarterly returns, Annual returns)
• Perform general accounting duties including entering transactions and reconciling general ledger, credit card, and cash accounts
• Verify, complete, and reconcile payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Monitor accounts receivable for accuracy of financial reporting
• Utilize various accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, CFS)
• Prepare and file sales tax returns for business clients

Requirements

• 3+ years professional bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills
• Proficient with accounting software and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Proactive problem solving and ability to self-manage projects
• Multi-State Payroll experience

Pay

The expected salary range for this role is $50,000 - $80,000 per year. Compensation decisions depend on numerous factors including qualifications, relevant work experience, geographic work location, the scope and responsibilities of the role, and market considerations.
