Staff Accountant

About the role

Yancey Bros. Co. has been the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia since 1914, serving the local market with high-quality sales, parts, and service.

Responsibilities

• Work with operations personnel to understand their business in order to effectively review their income statement for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and assist with researching financial statement issues as requested.
• Prepare internal and external financials, dashboard, and key statistic reports.
• Perform account reconciliations, including daily and monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, correcting journal entries, and preparing supporting work papers for auditors.
• Conduct financial analysis for areas of responsibility and communicate findings to operational management.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in full cycle accounting.
• A thorough knowledge of GAAP and cost of sale accounting.
• Advanced skill in MS Excel.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interaction with non-financial management.
