The Staff Accountant will evaluate complex transactions and record them to the general ledger to ensure financials are accurate and complete. This role is also responsible for the completion of complex balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis.
Responsibilities
- Calculate, review, and process journal entries and balance sheet/account reconciliation in preparation for month-end and/or quarter-end processing
- Post daily cash activities
- Evaluate transactions and record to the GL as necessary to ensure the financials are accurate and complete
- Compile and analyze complex accounting information to provide management with accounting information necessary to make critical business decisions
- Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree plus three years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of demonstrated full-cycle accounting experience
- Two years of demonstrated experience with accounting principles and GL systems
Physical Demands
- A considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
- Occasional walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20 lbs
Pay
Southern Glazer's offers a competitive compensation package with expected first-year total earnings between $60,000 - $70,000 per year. This salary range is an average for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills, and experience.
