Staff Accountant

About the role

Maintain and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting close processes
Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights
Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency and reduce waste
Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to cost of goods sold (COGS)
Prepare detailed cost reports and financial analysis for leadership
Ensure accuracy of cost data within ERP systems
Assist with internal and external audits as needed
Identify and implement process improvements within cost accounting functions

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in food manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis
• Experience with Sage X3 or other ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
