About the role
The Operations Finance / Reporting team at Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries for accruals, deferrals, reserves, eliminations, and other accounting transactions
- Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation
- Analyze and report on accruals and reserves, including inventory, slow-moving inventory, PTO, bonuses, and other key financial metrics
- Prepare and compile internal financial reports, schedules, and variance analyses for management, including month-to-date, quarter-to-date, and year-to-date results
- Aid in the preparation of consolidated financial reporting packages for the parent company, including balance sheet, income statement, intercompany reporting, and supporting schedules
- Conduct cash flow analysis and assist with cash flow forecasting to provide insight into the organization's financial position
- Research and resolve accounting issues to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement process improvements and reporting efficiencies
- Participate in financial modeling and analysis related to new strategic initiatives, including reporting automation (e.g., Power BI)
- Lead or contribute to business process improvement initiatives aligned with continuous improvement principles
- Perform special projects and other accounting duties as assigned
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of experience as an Accounting or Finance professional
Qualifications
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A high level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
Skills
- Experience with reporting automation or business intelligence tools specifically Power BI
- Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and their application to accounting transactions
- Experience preparing consolidated financial reporting packages
- SAP experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFA
- Process-oriented mindset with experience defining and implementing improved workflows
